Netshield Benefits

Netshield media converters can be used in numerous applications, specifically for clients wanting to upgrade their networks to fibre, but who do not have switches and hubs with fibre capabilities. A converter saves costs; Netshield has a wide range of UTP-to-fibre converters as well as lowcost Bridge Ethernet converters with external power sources.

The Netshield locally designed laser communications unit makes it possible for companies to increase the capabilities of their network and telecommunication environments through the transmission of data, utilising free airspace as a communication medium. The Netshield laser link reduces the time and cost associated with the installation of (WAN) Wide Area Network links and reduces the monthly overhead costs of WAN, (LAN) Local Area Networking and broadband telecommunications networks. The laser links are available for distances of up to 2.5km.

All Netshield products conform to international standards; they also carry a lifetime carry-in warranty repair.

Netshield lightning units create an isolated, island-like environment for IT equipment, thus protecting all the incoming Telkom and power lines. The units monitor all the different stages of surge voltage protection, visibly indicating the status using frontpanel LED indicators. The units are equipped with an asynchronous serial port, through which error messages and status information are displayed on a PC. The modular design of the system ensures that using different combinations of the range will cater for different surge-voltage risk environments.
